First Aid for Appointed Persons Training Course

This course is for individuals who are nominated to carry out rudimentary first aid in emergency situations, until fully-qualified First Aider's or medical staff arrive on the scene. This course is suited for smaller workplaces where an appointed person is required to assume charge in the event of illness or accident. It is also useful for larger organisations, where qualified First Aider's can benefit from additional support from Appointed Persons.

• An overview of Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations
• Managing an Incident
• First Aid priorities
• Resuscitation
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Blood loss
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty
• Treatment of shock
• Strategies for dealing with a range of common workplace injuries

You will be continuously assessed by the trainer, in a supportive environment.

This course employs trainers and materials approved and designed by the British Red Cross Society.

All delegates successfully completing the course will become an HSE-accredited Appointed Person
